Abstract
The contribution of the Δ-isobar excitation in the intermediate state to the weak two-pion exchange in the NN interaction is calculated. The structure of the nucleon is described in the potential quark model. The value of the Δ-isobar contribution to the longitudinal analyzing power A L in the low-energy pp scattering is linearly scaled by the constant f of the weak πNN coupling. For existing limits on the f-value the considered contribution proves to be small (⩽1%).
