Abstract

Total differential cross sections have been measured for the scattering of He from HCl and HBr at ≈ 75 meV. The HCl data are compared to fits from the isotropic parts of various theoretical interaction potentials. For both systems, isotropic best-fit potentials are reported. The goodness of these fits implies small potential anisotropy in the region explored by the measurements.
