Large amounts of radionuclides were released into the environment as a result of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident following the magnitude 9.0 Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequent tsunami on March 11, 2011. Some research activities that focused on the monitoring of actinide elements (236U, 238,239,240,241Pu, 241Am, and 242,243,244Cm) in road dust (black substances), litter, and soil samples from Fukushima prefecture are summarized in this chapter.
