Abstract
The electric field gradient at111Cd probe nuclei was measured by PAC simultaneously in the host metals of isotopes110Cd and116Cd to observe an isotopic mass effect. Within the experimental error no isotopic effect was found in the high temperature region (T<θD/2). This fact can be explained within the phonon description of the electric field gradient.
