Abstract

The isotopic composition of fission xenon in four meteorites (Pasamonte, Kapoeta, Angra dos Reis, and St. Severin) has been reevaluated. Spallation corrections have been made by means of spallation systematics based entirely on lunar data, with explicit allowance made for variations in the spallation xenon spectrum at different temperatures in thermal degassing experiments. The resulting best estimate of the fission Xe composition in St. Severin, Kapoeta, and Pasamonte is 128Xe/ 129Xe/ 130Xe/ 131Xe/ 132Xe/ 134Xe/ 136Xe = 0/≲10/≡ 0/25/85/91.5/ ≡ 100.
