Abstract

Isotope shifts are obtained by measuring the energies of isobaric analog states in the relevant isotopes. These shifts are small for protons in the f 7 2 shell, indicating no significant change in spatial wave functions of the protons as neutrons are added to the shell. Shifts for the Co and Cu isotopes indicate increases in nuclear size.
