Abstract
The isotope effect ( β) of the supercarrier effective mass is calculated in a two-band scheme with interband pair scattering. The behaviour of T c, isotope effect exponents α and β (underdoped region) found correspond to experimental data. The repulsive interband pairing interaction contains only a small electron–phonon contribution besides the Coulomb one.
