Abstract

Isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium data for the three ternary systems containing ethanol have been reported from this laboratory ( 7 -3). This work presents similar measurements for the system ethanol-acetonitribchloroform at 40 OC and compares the experimental results with those calculated by the extended UNIQUAC equation (4). Vapor-liquid equilibrium data for the three binary systems constituting the present ternary system are available in the literature: for ethanol-acetonitrile at 40 OC (5); for ethanol-chloroform at 35 O C (6); for acetonitrile-chloroform at 40 OC (7).
