Abstract

Abstract The Onsager phenomenological equations are used to deduce relationships among the tracer diffusion coefficient, the drift mobility in an electric field, and the intrinsic diffusion coefficient of the lattice gas. On comparison of these equations with results found from previous exact Monte Carlo calculations by the present authors and also from the path probability calculations of Sato and Kikuchi, it is found that the ratio of the tracer correlation factor to the drift mobility factor, which reflects a deviation from the Nernst-Einstein equation, also reflects a deviation from the Darken equation.
