Abstract

Poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/ poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) blends with various tetrabutyl titanate (TNBT) contents were prepared via melt-extrusion. The isothermal cold crystallization process and the following melting behaviors of pure PLA and its blends were investigated using Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The crystallization rate, melting behavior and spherulite size displayed great dependence on the crystallization temperature and TNBT contents, a transition from regime II to regime III occurred around 115°C. The values of fold surface free energy were calculated from nucleation parameter and is in agreement with the crystallization and melting behaviors.
