Isostructural mixed ligand complexes of [VO]2+ and [InCl]2+ with hydrotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)borato and 1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedionato ligands

Abstract

The crystal and molecular structures of (1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedionato-κ 2 O,O')oxo[tris(3,5-dimethyl-1 -pyrazolyl-κN 2 )hydroborato]vanadium(IV) (1) and chloro(1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedionato-κ 2 O,O')[tris(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazolyl-κN 2 )hydroborato]indium(III) methyl cyanide (2) have been determined. The crystals of both (1) and (2) consist of discrete six-coordinate molecules which have distorted octahedral geometries. As expected, there is a lengthening of the V-N bond trans to the terminal oxo group in the vanadium complex with a similar, but less pronounced, lengthening of the In-N bond trans to the chloro group in the indium complex
