Abstract

An investigation on the isospin components of the 13C giant dipole resonance has been carried out by means of the 1p and 2p-1h shell model including the one-particle continuum. The continuum photoreaction cross sections and angular distributions have been compared with experiment. The T and T+1 dipole strengths with their related sum rules have been inferred from a discrete calculation based on the same assumptions as the continuum model.
