Abstract

In this paper, we first show that a multiclass spatial price equilibrium model can be formulated as an equivalent multimodal traffic network equilibrium model with special structure. This connection allows us to obtain, for the multiclass spatial price equilibrium model, in a routine manner, any information that is currently available in the well developed theory of the general multimodal network equilibrium model, and moreover, to strengthen a number of these results taking advantage of the special structure of the equivalent multimodal traffic network model.
