Abstract

Isomerization of o-xylene on HBAIZSM-5, synthesized by the vapor method (VP-HBAIZSM-5 for short) was examined. The relationship between the surface acidity and activity was investigated with pyridine-i.r. The number of Bronsted acid sites and activity increase with the increase of B 2O 03 Al 2O 3 , but the number of Bronsted acid sites and the activity of VP-HBAIZSM-5 decrease when an extra amount of boron is added.
