Abstract
The experimental studies on nuclear structure and reactions dealing with nuclei in their isomeric state are, actually, mainly constrained by the difficulty of producing isomeric targets. The CEA/Bruyères-le-Châtel laboratory has initiated the production of a 177Lu m isomeric target. We plan to reach a 45% isomeric purity associated with a number of isomeric nuclei about 10 15. This target will be available for experiments at the end of the year 2000. The method performed to produce such targets will be discussed.
