Abstract
In alkylation of phenol with dec-l-ene on sulphonic acid catalysts isomers are formed with varying position of the hydroxyphenyl group in the alkyl chain. The degree of isomerization is practically independent of the type of sulphonic acid catalyst used, but increases with an increase in temperature and reaction time.
