Abstract

Isolation and identification of Mycoplasma iowae in Turkey 2 examples. Mycoplasma iowae was isolated for the first time in France. In one case, M. iowae was found in one day old turkeys showing bad general state of health and joint deficiency. In the other one, M. iowae was isolated in dead inshelled embryos. These one showed skeletal abnormalities and head and neck’s oedemas. In both cases, parental flocks were serologicaly positive with Mycoplasma meleagridis antigen using rapid agglutination plate technique. Incidence of this mycoplasma in pathological manifestation in turkey flocks must be elucidated.
