Abstract

1. To waterproof pervious construction joints and cracks having a separation of up to 0.5 mm, it is recommended to use strengthened glass fiber, as follows: one layer for heads of up to 15 m, two layers for heads between 15 and 30 m, and three layers for heads of over 30 m. 2. The waterproofing coating should be subjected to temporary back pressure produced by a pneumatic rubber cylinder or by a compression device transmitting the back pressure through a soft porous rubber packing. It is convenient to apply the waterproofing coating in 1000–1200-mm-wide strips with overlaps of not less than 100 mm. 3. For waterproofing wet concrete surfaces it is recommended to use a mastic epoxy coating applied without the pressure transmitted by a compression device, after removing the concentrated infiltration spots, by using strengthened waterproofing coatings.
