Abstract

Microsomal poly(A)-RNA was isolated from brains of myelinating rats. Both free polysomes and the rough endoplasmic reticulum contain this poly(A)-RNA. The poly(A) segment is 80–100 nucleotides long. Brain microsomal poly(A)-RNA directs the synthesis of the myelin encephalitogenic protein in Xenopus oocytes.
