Zwei auf einen Streich: Platencin (1) ist ein neuartiges und hochwirksames Gram-positives Breitbandantibiotikum. Während Platensimycin FabF selektiv inhibiert, hat die Wirksamkeit von Platencin eine andere Ursache: die doppelte Inhibierung von FabH und FabF.
