Abstract
Link protein cDNA has been completely sequenced from embryonic chicken cartilage (Deak et al., 1986) and from rat chondrosarcoma (Rhodes et al., 1988). The complete amino acid sequence has also been determined for the rat chondrosarcoma source (Neame et al., 1986) and the partial sequence for bovine cartilage link protein (Pkin et al., 1987). Complete sequences are thus known for only two species and a large part of a third. They showed highly homologous structures with the only significant sequence differences local&d close to the N terminus. To extend this database in this project the complete sequence of pig link protein and a partial sequence of human link protein from isolated cDNAs have been determined.
