Abstract

Abstract Solid-Phase Extraction (SPE) has been combined with High Performance Liquid Chromatography using a Photodiode Array Detector to isolate, recover and quantitate selected Chlorophenoxy acid herbicides, dicamba and dinoseb from spiked deionized water and a drinking water sample. Percent recoveries have been determined for spiked water and the precision for replicate SPEs has been determined. the capability of photodiode array detection in providing qualitative analysis and in increasing sensitivity via wavelength programming has been demonstrated. A method is proposed which eliminates non-polar matrix interferences. Recoveries for selected Chlorophenoxy acid herbicides were not influenced using this method.
