Abstract
The study include the isolation of Campylobacter jejuni (C.jejuni) from children (aging between after birth to two years) with watery or bloody diarrhea in the period from September 2002 to February 2003. The bacterium was identified depending on succession in growth on selective medium: Preston Campylobacter blood-free medium and microscopical examination which revealed that it is gram negative pleomorphic, curved bacillus, S-shaped and gull-winged. Biochemical tests showed its positive reaction for catalase, oxidase and its ability to hydrolyse hippurate and indoxyl acetate but it was negative for urease and lipase. This bacterium can grow at 42o C while it failed to grow at 25o C and it tolerates 1% glycine while it can not grow in 1.5 % NaCl. Additionally the bacterium was sensetive to Nalidixic acid but resistant to Cephalothin.

على مقاومتها للمضادC. jejuni فض ًلا عن ذلك اجري الاختبار التشخيصي وهو قدرة جرثومة بزرعها على وسط اكار الدم وتثبيت قرصيNalidixic acid وحساسيتها للمضادCephalothin الحيوي Nalidixic وبعد انتهاء فترة التحضين تم ملاحظة منطقة خالية من النمو حول قرص،المضادين الحيويين في حيـن لوحـظ نمو ًا اعتيادي ًا للجرثومة حول، دلالة على حساسية الجرثومة لهذا المضاد الحيويacid مما يدل على مقاومتها له و هذا ما جاء مطابق ًا لما ذكرهCephalothin قرص المضاد الحيوي

الملخص تضمن البحث عزل جرثومة (C.jejuni) Campylobacter jejuniمن الاطفال المصابين بالاسهال المائي او الدموي باعمار ما بعد الولادة الى عمر السنتين وللمدة ما بين ايلول 2002ولغاية شباط عام .2003تم تشخيص الجرثومة اعتماد ًا على نجاحها في النمو على الوسط الانتخابي Preston Campylobacter blood-free mediumوعلى الفحص المجهري الذي اظهر سالبيتها لصبغة كرام وبين اشكالها المختلفة pleomorphicبين الشكل العصوي المحدب وشكل الحرف Sوشكل جناح طائرالنورس فض ًلا عن اجراء الاختبارات الكيمياحياتية الخاصة بالجرثومة اذ ابدت ايجابيتها لاختباري الكاتليز والاوكسديز و تحليل الهيبيوريت والاندوكسيل اسيتيت مائي ًا وكانت سالبة لاختباري اليوريز واللايبيز،كما تمكنت من النمو في o 42م فيما فشلت في النمو في o 25م واستطاعت تحمل % 1كلايسين في حين لم تتحمل كلوريد الصوديوم بنسبة ،% 1.5كذلك كانت حساسة للمضاد الحيوي Nalidixic acid.
