Abstract

A spontaneous deletion mutant of adenovirus type 3 (Ad3), designated H3dl 102, was isolated and characterized. The H3dl 102 mutant is viable in HeLa cells and contains a deletion of 2.2 kb within the Ad3 early gene region 3. A new XhoI cleavage site is associated with the deletion.
