Abstract
Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes ofCampylobacter jejuni have been isolated from a pBR322C. jejuni genomic library by screening with radioactively labeledC. jejuni rRNA. Eleven clones isolated by this method were all shown to contain at least the 16S region of theC. jejuni rRNA gene, and at least 3 of the 11 clones isolated contained both the 16S and 23S regions. Southern blot analysis performed with the cloned genes supported the presence of three rRNA gene loci inC. jejuni.
