Abstract

In our contribution we have described one of the possible approaches to the speech recognition in the family of the modern Indo-European languages, especially in Slovak. The model describes the processes of a parrot-like perception by a neural net and the learning and recognition by probabilistic neural net. The model requires maximum 256 bits for a pattern of any word which corresponds to an information compression rate of some 2 16 bit per second to 2 8 bit per second for isolated words. The aim of the model is the recognition of isolated words, which should be independent of a speaker, the redundant physical and phonetic parameters.
