Abstract

A 16-year-old boy with post-traumatic hearing loss of the right ear is presented with the focus on clinical and operative observations including pre- and post-operative hearing thresholds. Pre-operative audiometry revealed a conductive hearing loss in the presence of normal otoscopy. Middle ear inspection revealed a fracture of the malleus handle with fixation of the umbo to the promontory. Hearing improved after ossiculoplasty by an incus interposition.
