Abstract

Histochemical, electrophoretical and quantitative investigations were performed on isolated endocrine and exocrine pancreas tissues of guinea pigs. The results obtained from the histochemical and quantitative methods show higher activity of the exocrine pancreas: LD 53.00% and MD 35.61%. The isoenzyme spectrum of LD in the endocrine and exocrine pancreas is made up of five fractions, while there are two fractions in the MD spectrum of the acinar tissue and only one in the Langerhans islets.
