Abstract

The isobaric analog state (IAS) of the 11Li nucleus has been investigated using the (p,n) reaction in inverse kinematics at E( 11 Li) = 64 A MeV . The IAS has been found in the decay energy spectrum of 11 Be ∗ → 9 Li+p+n at the corresponding excitation energy of 21.16 ± 0.02 MeV with a width of 0.49 ± 0.07 MeV (FWHM). The Coulomb displacement energy, decay width, decay mode and their relation to the halo structure are discussed.
