Abstract

Recently Taiwan Government announces the policy of “Two trillion double stars” for boosting the development of industries; especially the electronic industry. Since the key advantage of competition for corporations is “quality”, standard requirements of ISO 9001 provides an effective tool for manages to control quality system. Consequently, it is most important for electronic industry focusing on export business. Meanwhile, it is worthwhile to analyze the influence of performance of companies implementing the ISO 9001. Hence, this our propose is to study the impact of operating performance of Taiwan Electronic industry with respect to implement of the ISO 9001 System. The cases under study are the Electronic Corporations which obtained the certificate of ISO 9001 and were published by Weekly Business 2005. We randomly chose 348 companies to proceed the questionnaire and obtained 103 valid questionnaires. Later, method of linear structural relation (LISREL) is conducted to analyze the electronic industry’s impacts with the performrespect to administration, financial, environment, control of quality and overall operation by implementing ISO 9001. The results of research including: 1. The causality among variables in this model are statistically significant. 2. There are positive and conspicuous results for the control of quality on overall operation performances. 3. Companies who promote the quality and their image of products are most beneficial to companies both internal and externally. 4. In facing the tendency of globalization, it is worthwhile to encourage companies to implement the ISO 9001 to obtain competitiveness and profits as well as to fulfill the goal of sustainable development.
