Abstract

Though Islam is one of the leading religions in the world, scholarship on Islamic bioethics is in its infancy. Every ethical de1iberation in Islamic directed under the guidance of the Holy Quran, Hadith, the traditions of the prophet and Shar'ia, the Islamic law. This paper presents an overview of Islamic perspectives on some of the bioethical issues like homosexuality, birth control, euthanasia, organ transplantation, surrogacy, stern cell research and cloning.
