Islamic Finance at Harvard University

Abstract

Founded in 1636, Harvard University is America’s oldest university and one of the most respected centres of higher education and research in the world. Harvard attracts an array of talented students and scholars. It houses the largest library collections of any academic institution in the world. Since the establishment of the Harvard Islamic Society in 1955, the University has continued to reemphasize its liberal attitude towards the study of Islam and other religions within a serene but academically challenging environment. In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in studying Islam.
