Abstract

There are several well-written books published in the last decade on Islamic finance but few books that focus on Islamic capital market. Although Wilson (2008) has a very positive view on Sukuk market, Zulkhibiri (2015) mentioned that research on the Sukuk market is still underdeveloped. Hence the reviewed book “Islamic Capital Markets and Products Managing capital and Liquidity Requirements under Basel III” hopefully fills the unmet demand in academia. The editors of the book, Professor Simon Archer, a well-known expert in Accounting and Finance, Professor Rifaat Ahmed Abdel Karim, a recognized authority in the Islamic finance industry and the contributors of the book have an extensive background on the subject. The book has 15 chapters on various topics including basic concepts of Islamic equity, Islamic capital market development, as well as two interactive case studies on Malaysian and Bahraini Islamic capital markets.
