Abstract

1. 1. A case of infectious arthritis of the hip was presented in which an ischiofemoral arthrodesis was performed according to the technic of Brittain. 2. 2. The unusual clinical result in this patient suggested another approach to the operative treatment of the diseased hip, namely, an ischiofemoral arthrodesis of the proximal fragment by a massive tibial bone graft and a pseudoarthrosis between the tibial graft and the distal fragment. 3. 3. Suggestions were offered for the formation of the pseudoarthrosis.
