Abstract
A prototype modeling system, called the Information Systems Architecture modeling System (ISARMS), is described that addresses the problems of imprecise guidelines and identifies the unique modeling requirements for information systems architecture (ISA) development. This system serves as the foundation for robust ISA design methodologies. The modeling system development is based on formal definitions and the creation of ISA primitives required for design. An example of the modeling system is demonstrated using an existing ISA framework. >
