Abstract

Most IVF laboratory disposables are manufactured from polypropylene and polyethylene. A variety of reagents may be added during the manufacturing process to achieve various physical characteristics and to aid in production. Since these additives intercalate within the polymer structure, it is of importance to identify if leaching of plastic-derived contaminants into liquid occur over time.
