Abstract
Are the increasingly politicized firms the new norm? Should firms choose to be political or economic actors, or both? Are our theories equipped to guide firms that are increasingly becoming political actors? How does the changing nature of the firm impact our theories and what does it mean to be a profit seeking (let alone profit maximizing) entity? What are the implications for domestic versus international firms? Are multinational firms becoming more politicized compared to the regional firms? This panel will debate whether the current trend of firm actively engaging on political platforms and expressing preferences by taking sides is the new normal.
