Abstract

ABSTRACT This is a mathematical “yarn” about the experiences of the authors, the former a teacher and the latter a student, in resolving a paradox which arose in a summer-school course in second-semester calculus. The paradox involved the use of the integral and comparison tests on a particular infinite series.
