Abstract

Controversies on the “strain glass” concept are discussed in the present paper. Both ferroic glassy theory and traditional anelasticity theory can explain the “strain glassy behavior”. However, due to the limited frequency range of internal friction measurements, it is difficult to distinguish whether “strain glass” is a nanodomain frozen transition or thermally activated process.
