Abstract

In a previous paper, we have shown that the external HI regions of galaxies allow for the determination of a direction of parallelism. Being correlated with the supercluster flattering, this direction hints at a stratification. We illustrate the possible role of such a stratification in warping and tidal phenomena of galaxies. This stratification seems to involve various types of objects, and might extend much beyond z = 0.1.
