Abstract

It is pointed out that the large angle pp → pp data suggest an exponential behaviour in p ⊥ modulated by a regular oscillation in p ⊥ more naturally than a power law s − N . It is argued that these effects are due to a manifestation of the same geometrical length scale R ≈ 1 fermi which is known to control small angle scattering.
