Abstract

Abstract The past 40 years have seen a dramatic increase in the frequency, magnitude and geographic expansion of epidemic dengue, making it the most important vector-borne viral disease in the world. Mosquito control, the only option available for dengue control, has failed. New and innovative tools in the pipeline, however, may provide the opportunity to rollback this disease.
