Abstract

Introduction/Aim: Emergency oral tracheal intubation in the pre-hospital setting is always performed without the optimal conditions. In the presence of patients who have been contaminated by hazardous agents it is necessary that the medical personnel attending these patients use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), which make the conditions even more difficult, particularly procedures like oral tracheal intubation. We analyze the time spent to perform oral tracheal intubation by medical personnel using different levels of PPE.
