Abstract

Two hundred patients with primary, untreated varicose veins were randomly allocated to have their long saphenous veins stripped or to undergo high saphenous ligation alone. The patients were regularly reviewed and, at 3 years follow up, there was no significant difference in the results obtained from the two groups of patients.
