Abstract

After citing reasons why creation has slipped from view in the ordinary practice of Christian faith, this essay explores the love of God for the earth. How can we think about this charity in such a way that it becomes a compelling element of faith with practical and ethical consequences, rather than an afterthought? Originally delivered as the Michael Devlin lecture at St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, in 2015.
