Abstract
THE antifertility effect in rats of α-chlorhydrin (3-chloro-1,2-propanediol, U-5897, I) is well established1,2 and our studies3 suggested that glycidol (2,3-epoxypropane-l-ol, II) could be an active metabolite. In rats, it has now been shown that glycidol, like α-chlorhydrin, produces a functional type of sterility through an effect on epididymal sperm, induces spermatoceles and follows a similar metabolic pathway.
