Abstract
Is focused ultrasound surgery (FUS) a new way to treat persistent high-risk HPV infection and CINI
Highlights
Even though advances have been made in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer, it is still a common cancer of the female reproductive tract
Given that human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive cervical cancer is prevalent and that the possibility of HPV reinfection even after Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) treatment is high [5,7], it is necessary to develop effective strategies that minimize the risk of residual disease, as well as to prevent reinfection [4]
Fu et al [27] further confirmed their findings in a recent clinical study of 30 patients receiving focused ultrasound surgery (FUS) for CINI, reporting a total curative rate of FUS for CINI treatment of 90.0%
