Is ‘drive’ definable?

Abstract

Morgan and Deutsch's articles on the concept of drive in last September's Trends in NeuroSciences produced a good deal of correspondence. Here we print three of the letters received. Wise argues that the need is for a more precise definition, but the reply by Deutsch, and the remarks of Bindra underline just how difficult it is to formulate one which is universally acceptable.
