Abstract

Study Objectives: Direct laryngoscopy may not be an available or successful means of providing definitive airway control for emergency physicians. In many settings, including tactical medicine, the failed airway, cervical spine immobilized patients and severe facial trauma, digital intubation may provide an alternative method with which to control a patients airway. This study was designed to determine whether or not digital intubation is a valid option for definitive airway control by emergency physicians.
