Sometimes it seems as though, in a moment of weakness or just wishing for an easier life, the average security pro might wish that Clifford Stoll, writer of an (in)famous 1995 Newsweek article titled ‘The Internet? Bah!' (or ‘Why the web won't be Nirvana') had been right. 1 As the title suggests, Stoll contended that, while fun, the Internet was a bubble set to burst.
